In 2019, I developed a new website for Hearts for Emma, an organization that provides assistance to families of children with heart disease and supports educational initiatives relating to heart transplantation and organ and tissue donation.
User Experience Considerations
For this project, I designed a website that would showcase the organization’s important work with a clear, user-friendly navigation system broken down into a main navigation menu and sub-menu navigation in each website section.
Because the organization serves families with children in medical crises, the website needed to feel welcoming and warm. I achieved this sense of warmth by making good use of the organization’s three brand colors – purple, teal, and lime. I used these generously across the website, limiting whitespace to only essential content areas.
